We updated Analyses and Quick Facts for:
Sep 15, 2022 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Where possible, imports and exports are listed by country, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
Sep 14, 2022 The Annual Energy Outlook Retrospective Review compares realized energy outcomes with the Reference case projections included in previous editions of the Annual Energy Outlook (AEO) beginning with 1994. This edition of the report adds the AEO 2022 projections, updates the historical data to incorporate the latest data revisions, and includes measures for six sources of electricity generation: solar, wind, conventional hydroelectric, coal, natural gas, and nuclear.
Sep 12, 2022 The Drilling Productivity Report has been updated with the latest charts and methodology.
Sep 8, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through September 6, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Sep 7, 2022 The Brent crude oil spot price in our forecast averages $98 per barrel (b) in the fourth quarter of 2022 (4Q22) and $97/b in 2023. The possibility of petroleum supply disruptions and slower-than-expected crude oil production growth continues to create the potential for higher oil prices, while the possibility of slower-than-forecast economic growth creates the potential for lower prices.

Aug 31, 2022 These monthly production estimates are based on data from Form EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.
Aug 31, 2022 Imports data at the company level collected from Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
Aug 31, 2022 Final annual data for the supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products.
Aug 31, 2022 Final monthly statistics for the supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products.
Aug 31, 2022 This annual report calculates underground natural gas storage capacity as of November 2021 and explains how changes in storage capacity relate to market circumstances. Natural gas storage capacity declined in 2021 compared with 2020, by about 1%, according to bot metrics used to assess working natural gas storage capacity: design capacity and demonstrated peak capacity.
Aug 31, 2022 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for June 2022. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years. The data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
Aug 31, 2022 The U.S. Energy Information Administration release showing national monthly biofuels operable production capacity.
Aug 31, 2022 EIA presents alternative cases to the Annual Energy Outlook 2022 (AEO2022) that isolate revenue streams for different battery storage applications. These cases focus on identifying whether revenue from energy or capacity markets are stronger drivers for future battery storage deployment across the United States. This Issues in Focus article examines how the importance of two battery storage applications, energy arbitrage and reserve margin, varies across different scenarios.
Aug 31, 2022 Supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products on a national and regional level. The data describe production, imports and exports, movements, and inventories.
Aug 31, 2022 In June 2022, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the 15th consecutive month. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in June 2022 was 2,930 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 97.7 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 4.4 Bcf/d (4.8%) higher than June 2021 (93.2 Bcf/d) and the highest level for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Gross withdrawals also increased from June 2021.
Aug 30, 2022 These maps show the locations and types of production of the horizontal oil- and natural gas-producing wells installed in the Permian Basin for each consecutive year starting in 2010 through 2021.
Aug 29, 2022 We have updated the Electricity generation and consumption—Plant level data map on our Electricity Data Browser and Electricity Data Browser (Beta). These updates include access to a more functional map viewer, which launches from the View in dynamic map viewer link on the existing webpage and opens in a new tab.
Aug 29, 2022 We have updated the Coal Mine Production—Mine level data and Shipments of coal to the electric power sector—by mine/plant maps on our Coal Data Browser. These updates include access to a more functional map viewer, which launches from the View in dynamic map viewer link on the existing webpage and opens in a new tab.
Aug 25, 2022 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our August 2022 report, preliminary estimates for May 2022 indicate that U.S. primary energy consumption totaled 7.9 quadrillion British thermal units, a 3% increase from May 2021.
Aug 25, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through August 23, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Aug 25, 2022 China is the world's most populous country (1.4 billion people in 2020) and has a fast-growing economy. It was the largest energy consumer and producer in the world in 2020. We expect that China’s energy demand will continue to increase.
Aug 24, 2022 This month’s Electric Monthly Update contains data for June 2022 and a feature article about how carbon intensity of U.S. power generation continues to fall but varies widely by state.
Aug 24, 2022 Data in the August 2022 Electric Power Monthly (EPM) are for June 2022, during which net generation in the United States rose 1.6 percent from the June 2021 level. Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 5.4 percent compared to June 2021. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 11.3 percent from the June 2021 level.
As U.S. crude oil and natural gas production have increased, so has the volume of production declines from existing wells. To offset the increasing declines, operators today must bring on new wells to sustain or increase production levels. More ›
