Sep 28, 2022 Iraq holds some of the world’s largest oil reserves and is the second-largest producer in OPEC after Saudi Arabia. Although its crude oil production rose in 2021 and the first half of 2022, Iraq’s export infrastructure is constrained and midstream projects are often delayed because of insufficient investment and bureaucratic hurdles.
Sep 28, 2022 The 2018 Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) preliminary consumption and expenditures estimates are now available. Newly released data tables provide preliminary energy consumption, expenditures, and intensity information for major fuels, including electricity and natural gas.
Sep 27, 2022 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our September 2022 report, preliminary estimates indicate that U.S. total primary energy consumption equaled 50 quadrillion British thermal units (quads) in the first six months of 2022, a 4% increase from the same period in 2021. U.S. total primary energy production equaled 51 quads in the first six months of 2022, a 5% increase from the same period in 2021.
Sep 23, 2022 Data in the September 2022 Electric Power Monthly (EPM) are for July 2022, during which net generation in the United States rose 4.6 percent from the July 2021 level. Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 12.6 percent compared to July 2021. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 11.5 percent from the July 2021 level.
Sep 23, 2022 This month’s Electric Monthly Update contains data for July 2022 and a feature article about how average U.S. construction costs for generators continue to vary by technology.
Sep 22, 2022 This analysis focuses on the financial and operating trends of 143 global oil and natural gas companies from 2017 through second-quarter 2022.
Sep 22, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through September 20, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Sep 22, 2022 EIA has posted the final annual electric generator data from Form EIA-860 for 2021 The 2021 data include an additional 1,014 plants, representing 66.1 gigawatts (GW) of capacity.

Sep 15, 2022 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Where possible, imports and exports are listed by country, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
Sep 14, 2022 The Annual Energy Outlook Retrospective Review compares realized energy outcomes with the Reference case projections included in previous editions of the Annual Energy Outlook (AEO) beginning with 1994. This edition of the report adds the AEO 2022 projections, updates the historical data to incorporate the latest data revisions, and includes measures for six sources of electricity generation: solar, wind, conventional hydroelectric, coal, natural gas, and nuclear.
Sep 12, 2022 The Drilling Productivity Report has been updated with the latest charts and methodology.
Sep 8, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through September 6, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Sep 7, 2022 The Brent crude oil spot price in our forecast averages $98 per barrel (b) in the fourth quarter of 2022 (4Q22) and $97/b in 2023. The possibility of petroleum supply disruptions and slower-than-expected crude oil production growth continues to create the potential for higher oil prices, while the possibility of slower-than-forecast economic growth creates the potential for lower prices.

Aug 31, 2022 These monthly production estimates are based on data from Form EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.
Aug 31, 2022 Imports data at the company level collected from Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
Aug 31, 2022 Final annual data for the supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products.
Aug 31, 2022 Final monthly statistics for the supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products.
Aug 31, 2022 This annual report calculates underground natural gas storage capacity as of November 2021 and explains how changes in storage capacity relate to market circumstances. Natural gas storage capacity declined in 2021 compared with 2020, by about 1%, according to bot metrics used to assess working natural gas storage capacity: design capacity and demonstrated peak capacity.
Aug 31, 2022 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for June 2022. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years. The data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
Aug 31, 2022 The U.S. Energy Information Administration release showing national monthly biofuels operable production capacity.
Aug 31, 2022 EIA presents alternative cases to the Annual Energy Outlook 2022 (AEO2022) that isolate revenue streams for different battery storage applications. These cases focus on identifying whether revenue from energy or capacity markets are stronger drivers for future battery storage deployment across the United States. This Issues in Focus article examines how the importance of two battery storage applications, energy arbitrage and reserve margin, varies across different scenarios.
Aug 31, 2022 Supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products on a national and regional level. The data describe production, imports and exports, movements, and inventories.
Aug 31, 2022 In June 2022, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the 15th consecutive month. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in June 2022 was 2,930 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 97.7 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 4.4 Bcf/d (4.8%) higher than June 2021 (93.2 Bcf/d) and the highest level for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Gross withdrawals also increased from June 2021.
Driven by an increase in wholesale natural gas prices, retail U.S. natural gas prices for every sector have increased so far this year, although the increases are uneven across sectors. In our latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, we expect the 2025 annual average price of natural gas paid by electric power plants to increase by 37% and the price paid by industrial sector customers to increase by 21% compared with the 2024 averages. We forecast that natural gas prices for customers in the commercial and residential sectors will increase by less, at 4% each. More ›
