May 15, 2025 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from seven major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through May 13, 2025, and republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
May 15, 2025
We updated the Analyses and Quick Facts for:
May 15, 2025 Natural gas prices, supply and demand balances, liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, rig counts, storage levels, weather data, and other market activity or events.
May 9, 2025 Annual state-level estimates of total renewable energy consumption and wood and biomass waste consumption, prices, and expenditures through 2023.
May 8, 2025 Natural gas prices, supply and demand balances, liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, rig counts, storage levels, weather data, and other market activity or events.
May 7, 2025 This annual report calculates underground natural gas storage capacity as of November 2024 and explains how changes in storage capacity relate to market circumstances. Natural gas storage capacity increased in 2024 compared with 2023 by about 1.7%, according to the demonstrated peak capacity metric used to assess working natural gas storage capacity. Design capacity increased slightly, by 0.1%, since 2023.
May 6, 2025 Trade policy assumptions. The U.S. macroeconomic outlook we use in the Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) is based on S&P Global’s macroeconomic model. S&P Global’s most recent model reflects the tariffs announced on April 2, but the model was finalized prior to the 90-day temporary suspension of tariffs granted to certain countries. As a result, our macroeconomic forecast assumes significantly lower tariffs on China’s products than are currently in place and significantly higher tariffs on countries subject to the 90-day temporary suspension. These differences in tariff rates likely have offsetting effects on the macroeconomic forecast.

May 1, 2025 The May 2025 Petroleum Marketing Monthly, with data through February 2025, presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics for crude oil sales in the United States.
Apr 30, 2025 The U.S. Energy Information Administration release showing national monthly biofuels operable production capacity.
Apr 30, 2025 These data include company-level imports data collected from the Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
Apr 30, 2025 The report includes supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products on the national and regional levels. The data series describe production, imports and exports, movements, and inventories.
Apr 30, 2025 Five energy flow diagrams with data for 2024 show U.S. production and consumption of total energy, petroleum, natural gas, coal, and electricity. Five charts with U.S. energy consumption by source and sector show the distribution, by both energy source and sector, of total energy, petroleum products, fossil fuels, renewable energy, and CO2 emissions in 2024.
Apr 30, 2025 These monthly production estimates are based on data from Form EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.
Apr 30, 2025 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil are available for February 2025. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased over the past five years. The new data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
Apr 30, 2025 The Natural Gas Monthly (NGM) presents volume and price data each month for natural gas production, distribution, consumption, and interstate pipeline activities. NGM also reports producer-related activities and underground storage data. NGM data on 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia are collected on EIA surveys.
Apr 24, 2025 Natural gas prices, supply and demand balances, liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, rig counts, storage levels, weather data, and other market activity or events.
Apr 24, 2025 Data in the April 2025 Electric Power Monthly are for February 2025, when net generation in the United States increased 5.7% from February 2024. Consumption of coal for power generation was up 35.5% compared with the previous year. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 2.0% from February 2024.
Apr 24, 2025 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our April 2025 report, preliminary estimates for January 2025 indicate that U.S. primary energy consumption totaled 9.5 quadrillion British thermal units, a 6% increase from January 2024.
Apr 18, 2025 Annual state-level estimates of consumption, prices, and expenditures for total petroleum products, petroleum coke, and other petroleum products through 2023.

Driven by an increase in wholesale natural gas prices, retail U.S. natural gas prices for every sector have increased so far this year, although the increases are uneven across sectors. In our latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, we expect the 2025 annual average price of natural gas paid by electric power plants to increase by 37% and the price paid by industrial sector customers to increase by 21% compared with the 2024 averages. We forecast that natural gas prices for customers in the commercial and residential sectors will increase by less, at 4% each. More ›
