Jun 21, 2022 Data series include fuel, electricity, and steam purchased for consumption at refineries; refinery receipts of crude oil by method of transportation; and current and projected atmospheric crude oil distillation, and downstream charge capacities and production capacity of selected products. Respondents operate all operating and idle petroleum refineries (including new refineries under construction) and refineries shut down during the previous year. These refineries are located in the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and other U.S. possessions.

We updated Analyses and Quick Facts for:
Jun 16, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through June 14, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Jun 15, 2022 This report contains monthly summary data for the photovoltaic industry in the United States. Data include manufacturing, imports, and exports of modules in the United States and its territories. Summary data include volumes in peak kilowatts and average prices. Where possible, imports and exports are listed by country, and shipments to the United States are listed by state.
Jun 15, 2022 This web page contains spreadsheets with early release 2021 data on electricity generation, fuel consumption, fossil fuel stocks, fuel receipts, and environmental operations data from the 2021 Form EIA-923, Power Plant Operations Report.
Jun 15, 2022 We have extended our annual crude oil surplus capacity estimates for current OPEC members back to 1970, and we have also added estimates for non-OPEC countries (including both former members of OPEC as well as non-OPEC countries). This extended data series provides historical context for analyzing current market conditions. The new annual surplus capacity data series is based almost entirely on EIA data, including our International Energy Statistics production data, our Short-Term Energy Outlook, and our International Energy Outlook, and uses a consistent definition of capacity throughout the time series (effective production capacity).
Jun 15, 2022 This report contains data for wood pellet and other densified biomass fuel production, sales, and inventory levels from 80 operating manufacturers of densified biomass fuel in the United States. Facilities with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons or more per year are required to report monthly.
Jun 13, 2022 The Drilled but Uncompleted Wells (DUCs) supplement has been updated with the latest charts and methodology.
Jun 9, 2022 This spreadsheet contains detailed information on liquids (crude oil, petroleum products, and hydrocarbon gas liquids) pipeline projects that have been completed (since 2010), announced, or canceled or are on hold or under construction. We do not collect the data on an EIA survey, but rather we compile the data from various sources including trade press, pipeline company websites, and government agencies. These data are not a forecast. They represent last-known public information on projects, as of June 3, 2022. We will update this spreadsheet twice a year.
Jun 7, 2022 The June Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) is subject to heightened levels of uncertainty resulting from a variety of factors, including Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Global macroeconomic assumptions in STEO are from Oxford Economics and include global GDP growth of 3.1% in 2022 and 3.4% in 2023, compared with growth of 6.0% in 2021. A range of potential macroeconomic outcomes could affect energy markets in the forecast period. Factors driving energy supply uncertainty include how sanctions affect Russia’s oil production, the production decisions of OPEC+, and the rate at which U.S. oil and natural gas producers increase drilling.
Jun 6, 2022 EIA presents alternative cases to the Annual Energy Outlook 2022 (AEO2022) that investigate how weather affects residential and commercial building energy demand. These cases focus on different cooling and heating degree day projections—indicators of space heating and space cooling energy demand, respectively—relative to other AEO cases. This Issues in Focus article examines how changes in degree days can change space heating and cooling consumption in buildings and how changes in energy demand from buildings affects energy prices, generation mix, and emissions.
Jun 2, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through May 31, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Jun 2, 2022 EIA has posted the 2021 early release data for the Annual Electric Generator Report from Form EIA-860. We post the early release to provide our customers with immediate access to individual plant and generator data. The data have not been fully edited and are inappropriate for aggregation, such as to state or national totals. In some cases, we have excluded data for some plants and generators from this early release pending further data validation. We will release final, complete, and fully edited data later in 2022.
Jun 1, 2022 The June 2022 Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), with data through March 2022 presents monthly and annual price and volume statistics covering crude oil and refined petroleum products sales in the United States. In this edition of the PMM, final 2021 monthly data and annual averages for crude oil are published in tables 18-27.
May 31, 2022 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for March 2022. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years. The data on crude-by-rail (CBR) movements are also fully integrated with EIA’s existing monthly petroleum supply statistics, which already include crude oil movements by pipeline, tanker, and barge.
May 31, 2022 Working and net available shell storage capacity as of March 31, 2022 is the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) report containing annual storage capacity data. It includes three tables detailing working and net available shell storage capacity by facility type, product, and PAD District as of March 31.
May 31, 2022 The U.S. Energy Information Administration release showing national monthly biofuels operable production capacity.
May 31, 2022 Supply and disposition of crude oil and petroleum products on a national and regional level. The data describe production, imports and exports, movements, and inventories.
May 31, 2022 In March 2022, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the 12th consecutive month. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in March 2022 was 2,944 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 95.0 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 2.7 Bcf/d (2.9%) higher than March 2021 (92.3 Bcf/d) and the second-highest level for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Gross withdrawals also increased from March 2021.
May 31, 2022 These monthly production estimates are based on data from Form EIA-914, Monthly Crude Oil, Lease Condensate, and Natural Gas Production Report.
May 31, 2022 Imports data at the company level collected from Form EIA-814, Monthly Imports Report.
