Feb 25, 2022 The County Code Master List (CCML) provides standard county name spellings and codes for use in Form EIA-23L, Annual Report of Domestic Oil and Natural Gas Reserves.
Feb 25, 2022 This month’s Electric Monthly Update contains data for December 2021 and a feature article about how around 18% of U.S. generating capacity can fuel switch, and much of this capacity is in Florida, New York, and New England.
Feb 25, 2022 Data in the February 2022 Electric Power Monthly (EPM) are for December 2021, during which net generation in the United States fell 1.4 percent from the December 2020 level. Consumption of natural gas for power generation was up 0.1 percent compared to December 2020. The average residential retail price of electricity was up 7.6 percent from the November 2020 level.
Feb 25, 2022 Annual state-level estimates of consumption, prices, and expenditures for distillate fuel oil, residual fuel oil, and kerosene
Feb 24, 2022 EIA presents alternative cases to the International Energy Outlook 2021 (IEO2021) that assume concerted efforts to decarbonize the steel sector in China, South Korea, Japan, and OECD Europe. These cases focus on increasing electric arc furnace production with renewable power and supplementing scrap steel feedstock with direct reduced iron made from electrolytic hydrogen powered by renewable sources. This Issues in Focus article examines how these changes in the crude steel production process affect fuel consumption, power generation, and emissions.
Feb 24, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through February 22, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Feb 24, 2022 The Monthly Energy Review is our comprehensive report on recent and historical energy statistics. According to our February 2022 report, preliminary estimates indicate that total carbon dioxide emissions from U.S. consumption of energy (excluding biomass) equaled 403 million metric tons in November 2021, an 8% increase from November 2020. Of this total, petroleum accounted for 47%, natural gas for 36%, and coal for 17%.
Feb 18, 2022 The Prime Supplier Report presents data through December 2021 on Form EIA-782C, Monthly Report of Prime Supplier Sales of Petroleum Products Sold for Local Consumption. These data measure primary product deliveries into the states where they are locally marketed and consumed.

We updated Analyses and Quick Facts for:
Feb 14, 2022 Because drilling new wells has been significantly reduced, the inventory of drilled but uncompleted (DUC) wells provides short-term reserve for the completion of new wells. The September supplement to the Drilling Productivity Report reviews how DUC well inventory functions as a necessary buffer between drilling activities and oil demand.
Feb 14, 2022 The U.S. Energy Information Administration released the Fuel Oil and Kerosene Sales 2020 report. The report provides information, illustrations, and State-level statistical data on energy-use sales of kerosene, distillate fuel oil, and residual fuel oil.
Feb 11, 2022 Annual state-level estimates of coal consumption, prices, and expenditures.
Feb 10, 2022 This site contains spreadsheets with wholesale electricity and natural gas data from eight major trading hubs that cover most regions of the United States. The data are through February 8, 2022 and are republished, with permission, from the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).
Feb 8, 2022 The February Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) assumes U.S. GDP grew by 5.7% in 2021 and will grow by 4.2% in 2022 and by 2.8% in 2023. We use the IHS Markit macroeconomic model to generate our U.S. economic assumptions. Global macroeconomic assumptions in this forecast are from Oxford Economics and include global GDP growth of 4.4% in 2022 and 4.0% in 2023, compared with growth of 5.8% in 2021. A wide range of potential macroeconomic outcomes could significantly affect energy markets during the forecast period. In addition, the evolving effects of consumer behavior on energy demand because of the pandemic present a wide range of potential outcomes for energy consumption. Supply uncertainty in the forecast results from the potential for disruptions, the production decisions of OPEC+, and the rate at which U.S. oil and natural gas producers increase drilling.
Feb 7, 2022 EIA highlights Asia’s coal markets in this International Energy Outlook 2021 (IEO2021) Issues in Focus article and examines uncertainty associated with coal demand growth and coal production cost. Through three alternative cases to the IEO2021 Reference case, we analyze how lower coal demand and higher or lower coal production costs in India and Southeast Asia affect coal trade, the electricity generation mix, and CO2 emissions.
Feb 7, 2022 We reported the largest net withdrawal from working natural gas stocks for the Lower 48 states of the 2021–22 heating season (November–March), and the fifth-largest weekly withdrawal since 2010. Net withdrawals from storage were 268 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending January 28, 2022, 118 Bcf (79%) larger than the previous five-year average (2017–21) for the report week.
Feb 3, 2022 Fourth quarter 2021 update of uranium production in the United States and operating status of U.S. uranium mills and plants.
Feb 2, 2022 EIA presents an alternative case to the Annual Energy Outlook 2021 (AEO2021) that compares the Reference case to a Corporate Goal case that models announced utility plans in addition to current laws and regulations. We analyze the resulting impacts of these utility plans on U.S. CO2 emissions and electricity generation mix in this Issues in Focus article.

Jan 31, 2022 In November 2021, dry natural gas production increased year over year for the month for the eighth consecutive month. The preliminary level for dry natural gas production in November 2021 was 2,908 billion cubic feet (Bcf), or 96.9 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). This level was 4.9 Bcf/d (5.3%) higher than November 2020 (92.0 Bcf/d) and the second-highest for the month since 1973, when we began tracking dry natural gas production. Both gross withdrawals and marketed production also increased from November 2020.
Jan 31, 2022 Monthly data on rail movements of crude oil have been updated for November 2021. Crude oil movements by rail have significantly increased during the past five years.
